The Alvin Community
College Board of Regents voted to proceed with a project that would allow the
City of Alvin to construct a road between the college campus and Briscoe Park.
Regents voted unanimously
to pursue a Memorandum of Understanding so the city can fund and build an
emergency access road starting on the college campus by Building T and directly
leading to Briscoe Park. The city will pay the construction costs.
In other action, the
board authorized funding to T&R Mechanical for HVAC services on campus.
The board also heard a
report on the accreditation reaffirmation process and the Career Pathways

currently implementing Career Pathways to meet the state’s 60x30 TX mandate.
The program is a comprehensive strategy to assist students in identifying and
pursuing a career.
