Process Technology

Program Description

Process Technology is the ability to understand, operate, shut down, analyze and troubleshoot industrial processes. The Process Technology program at ACC prepares students to become process technicians in the refining, petrochemical, power generation, oil and gas production, food, metals, minerals and other process industries. Technical knowledge and skills will be gained in areas such as operating equipment, instrumentation systems, process systems, process troubleshooting and computer applications.

Career Opportunities

Process Technicians are in great demand in the Gulf Coast area, across the U.S. and in many other countries. Alvin Community College graduates have close to a 100% job placement rate and many students are hired before graduation. Starting annual salaries for process operators in the coastal industrial complex is $60K-$65K per year, with excellent benefits.

Program Investment

The Process Technology Associate Degree program costs approximately $6,600*. This amount is based on a pre-set curriculum sequence and in-district tuition. This price includes tuition, fees, and textbooks.
