Faculty Fellows

Meet the Faculty Fellows

Dr. Stephanie Havemann

Stephanie Havemann has designed, developed, and implemented a number of Professional Development seminars and courses ranging from gene cloning to interview skills and cheerleading to Blackboard utilization.  Most recently, she has coordinated a Lunch-n-Learn seminar series with topics presented by ACC faculty for ACC faculty in efforts to promote cooperation and knowledge sharing here on campus.  She looks forward to serving as your Faculty Fellow for the Center for Success and hopes to bring about more camaraderie at ACC by augmenting the professional development already offered with some of your unique ideas, concepts, and interests.

Mr. Brian Berger

Brian Berger is a Chemistry Instructor at ACC.  Prior to his time here, Brian taught Chemistry as an adjunct faculty member for several colleges in Houston, and taught high school chemistry in the Harmony school system.  It was during this time that Brian became interested in implementing technology in the classroom for note taking, lecture recording and maintaining an online presence for students to enhance learning.  Brian is excited to bring his knowledge of BlackBoard Learn to the Distance Education Fellowship, with knowledge of video creation and hybrid course management.

Alvin Community College Faculty Fellows are dedicated faculty members who are available to support all faculty of ACC.  Some of the services that they provide include:

  • Providing professional development and peer support
  • One-on-one consultations by appointment
  • In-office training
  • Sharing and training for classroom technology to encourage active learning
  • Support for Blackboard and other widely used campus software
  • Support for distance education faculty in course design and delivery
  • Answers for daily problems and tasks for which faculty need assistance
