New Student Orientation

Attend a New Student Orientation Session:

New Student Orientation provides new students with the information and tools needed to make a successful start at Alvin Community College. It is required for all first-time college students and is offered in several different formats.

In-Person Summer Sessions:

In-person New Student Orientation sessions are offered throughout the summer in both morning or evening sessions. At an in-person orientation session you will:
  • Take a tour of the ACC campus with a New Student Orientation Student Leader.
  • Spend time and speak directly with returning ACC students to gain valuable information from their perspective
  • Meet with key ACC departments including Financial Aid, Academic Advising, the Learning Lab and more
  • Find out how you can get involved on campus to make new friends and explore your interests..

Please note that students must register prior to attending a New Student Orientation session. Registration will close at noon on the day prior to each session. There is no walk-up registration.

Dual Credit Orientation

Attention Dual Credit Students:

All new dual credit students are required to complete a special orientation program just for dual credit students. There will be three sessions of dual credit orientation offered this summer in various locations.

Dolphin Camp: Two Day Freshman Camp

Register Now for the Wednesday, August 5 and Thursday, August 6 Camp!

Dolphin Camp is a two-day fun and interactive day-camp that welcomes the freshman class of ACC. Students will have the opportunity to make new friends and learn about ACC as you become part of the Dolphin Nation!

Activities include:

  • Ropes Course
  • Breakout sessions covering a range of college-related topics
  • Presentation by national touring group, The Hook-Up
  • Team challenges
  • Scavenger hunt across the ACC campus
  • Team vs. team water balloon fight

The cost to participate in Dolphin Camp is $20 per person. Your registration fee includes a camp t-shirt, breakfast and lunch both days and other great ACC give-aways!

Space is limited so register early! To participate in camp you must have completed the following admission and registration steps:

  • Complete and submit an ACC application
  • Complete all required placement testing
  • Submit required meningitis vaccine verification form

New Student Orientation on MyBlackboard

To access the New Student Orientation on MyBlackboard,   please follow the instructions below. 

  1. Log in to MyBlackboard (bb.alvincollege.edu)
  2. Click on the ACC tab on the top right hand side
  3. Click on “Browse Course Catalog”
  4. Search for “New Student Orientation”
  5. Click on the drop down menu on the right side of the course and click “Enroll”
  6. Go to “My Courses” and you should have access to the orientation module
