Across the Curriculum Conference

Across the Curriculum is a free one-day virtual conference which supports the intellectual and professional development of area education professionals devoted to progressive education and student success in the core curriculum. Instructors, administrators, and even students have very valuable insight which can be advantageous for others. This conference allows this knowledge to be presented and shared through presentations and workshops, allowing us learn from one another.


2026 Conference Theme: Highlighting Creative Practices for Student Success

This year's theme explores how creative practices can enhance student success in college classrooms across disciplines, especially in our dynamic educational environment. By integrating creativity into instruction, assignments, and classroom as well as support environments, educators can foster deeper engagement, critical thinking, and collaboration among students. 

  • Presentations are open to faculty (full-time and part-time, college and ISD) and administrators.
  • There will be multiple 60 minute breakout sessions for presentations. 
  • Individual and group presentations are acceptable.

 

Breakout Session Categories:

  1. The Innovative Classroom 
    (learning communities, PBL, multi-modality, collaborative classroom, team-teaching, methods used in classroom, quizzing in class using technologies, small group breakdown, flipped classroom, 8-week semester)
  2. Instructional Technology 
    (reaching instructors outside the classroom, extracurricular activities/clubs, academic support, tutoring, library, journals, publications, Study Abroad, PTK/Honors, outside vendors, relationship-building, OER, inclusive access, grant writing)
  3. Beyond the Classroom
    (disruptive technology, AI, VR, augmented reality, web-based, video-recording, podcasting, Office 365, True Touch Screen)
  4. Student Support
    (personal wellness, individual well-being)
