Course Overview
This one-week, online-only course is delivered through Blackboard and meets all federal ELDT requirements. Upon successful completion, Alvin College submits your scores to the Training Provider Registry (TPR), which automatically updates with the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS).

Students are then responsible for completing the DPS testing, background check, and fingerprinting to finalize their endorsement.

Alvin College Truck Information

The vehicles used in the Alvin College CDL program are comparable to those used in the trucking industry. We have three trucks: two conventional tractors with 10-speed and 13-speed manual transmissions, setback axles, and dual tandem rear axles with Jiff lock, and one automatic transmission truck for students training on modern equipment. Our trailer is a 53-foot dry van, with access to additional trailers as needed.
